Oh what a night at Harrogate Theatre

Tewit Silver Band and our fabulous MD Martin Hall were delighted to perform to a full house at Harrogate Theatre in support of Friends of Harrogate Hospital and Harrogate Theatre, two fantastic causes and a brilliant audience to match. The evening opened in style with Paul Lovatt-Cooper’s Horizons, setting the tone for a varied programme of favourites and showpieces.

We were honoured to welcome international soloist Roger Webster as our guest artist. The first half featured a beautifully lyrical Ave Maria alongside the ever-popular Carnival of Venice. After the interval, the energy ramped up with Crazy Brass Machine (featuring our own Josh Hartley on kit), before Roger brought a more reflective mood with the Japanese folk song Furusato and finished in spectacular fashion with Napoli  now firmly responsible for a sudden surge in cornet practice across the band!

Balkan Dances showcased the band’s soloists (and even some singing), and the evening concluded with an encore of Valero, joined by Roger. It was a pleasure to share the stage, perform on some of our new Besson instruments, and most importantly help raise money for two outstanding local charities.

Thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a special night
