The Genesis of Tewit Silver Band through the eyes of our current Chairman.

Having a very successful Youth Band was a problem with members who, having reached the age of 18, had to leave the band before their 19th birthday to comply with regulations. Some, went off to university, others remained in the area and some returned after university. These talented players had nowhere else to play. Martin  Hall and I had a discussion and decided that, as we had all the facilities, we should start a band to compete nationally. We invited ex Tewit members, current Tewit Senior  members and players who used to play in other bands who were looking for a place and new challenge. Almost immediately, we had a full band and registered in the 4th section to start. 

The rest as they say is history!
